Your appropriate placement in college-level English and/or Math is determined in one of three ways:

1. A review of previous college-level work as documented on official transcripts
2. A review of relevant scores on nationally standardized assessment tests such as the SAT, ACT, or TAAS

   Math 19+	Math 500+	Math 86+
   Composite 23+	Composite 1070+	Reading 89+

3. A review of scores on the DTLS standardized tests used by the Dallas County Community Colleges
   

   For placement in college-level English courses, you must have:	For placement in college-level Algebra, you must have:
   30 DTLS Reading	16 DTLS Math Test 3
   80 MTEP* English proficiency for non-native speakers (* Michigan Test of English Proficiency)
   NOTE: SAT, ACT, TAAS and DTLS scores are valid for five (5) years.

If you:

• ...do not have any previous college records
• ...do not have SAT or ACT scores
• ...do not live close enough to a testing site to take the SAT or ACT then
  Ask an advisor for assistance
