PRINT INDEXES FOR
ARTICLES The Readers Guide to Periodical Literature is an easy to use print index which indexes articles in over 200 popular periodicals, e.g., Time, Newsweek, U.S. News, etc. This index is excellent for locating articles on a wide variety of topics. The main body of the index consists of subject and author entries to periodical articles arranged in one alphabet with a list of book reviews following the main index. Older copies of The Readers Guide to Periodical Literature will be bound into yearly cumulations for each year. Recent publications will be in monthly paperback formats. The library will not subscribe to all the periodicals that are indexed in The Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature. Ask for a listing of the library's periodical holdings to determine which magazines will be available at the library you are using. Titles of periodicals owned by the DCCCD libraries will be listed in the DCCCD Library Catalog. Current and recent publications will probably be available in the original print, unbound format. Older publications may be in bound volumes, on microfiche, or on microfilm. The library will have special machines for you to use in reading and printing articles from microfiche or microfilm, and someone will assist you in using the machine. SIRS - Social Issues Resources Series. These large notebooks, each devoted to a broad topic like Youth, Economics, Pollution, School, etc., contain a selection of many excellent articles reprinted from a variety of original sources.
