How to Order Dallas TeleCollege Course Materials

STEP 1:

To order the correct books and materials for Dallas TeleCollege sections, you must check the semester Book List provided in PDF format. (You should also check with your instructor for any additional materials they may require).

Note: For Campus-Based Distance Learning (Sections other than 9000) – Students may purchase text/print materials online from Efollett Bookstore or from any campus location bookstores.

STEP 2: 

Order your books/print materials from MBS Books, http://direct.mbsbooks.com/dcccd.htm -. See Step 3 below for instructions about materials other than books. You may also place your order by phone or mail.

bulletCall and identify yourself as a distance learning student enrolled in Dallas TeleCollege courses.
bulletProvide the name and number of the course that you are taking. Example: Sociology 1301 is listed SOCI 1301.
bulletIndicate the type of textbooks or video programs you wish to buy or lease.

Mail Orders

To order by mail print the MBS Order Form, (Acrobat Reader required) complete it, and mail or fax it to MBS Bookstore. Payments may be made by money order, check or a credit card. When ordering by mail, payments must be received by MBS before materials are shipped.

Academic Systems Kits

Students enrolled in Dallas TeleCollege DMAT, DWRI, and MATH 1314, 1414, classes can purchase Academic Systems Kits online at Efollett Bookstore, http://www.efcdcccd.bkstr.com.

Interactive CD-ROM

The following courses offer an interactive CD-ROM in which additional course materials such as self-testing and review resources are offered - ECON 2301 and 2302, HIST 1301, and PHED 1164. Check with your instructor to see if they require or suggest the use of the interactive CD-ROM. Order these materials from MBS.

Videotapes and Videos on CD-ROM

If you live in the Dallas-area metroplex…

In many cases you can view video programs on Comcast Cable television or in DCCCD-campus labs (see Broadcast Schedule at http://www.telecollege.dcccd.edu/Courses/broadcast_schedule.htm). Some courses have video programs available on CD-ROM to view on a computer. Cable television programming is supplied by each cable company and is subject to change without notice. Please call your cable company to confirm the channel for your course or if the course does not run during scheduled times: Comcast 972-445-5555, Charter 972-296-2283 or call Dallas TeleCollege for more information, 972-669-6400.

Videotapes and video programs on CD-ROM may also be purchased through MBS.

Tape/CD buy back is available. MBS Direct will send buyback quotes for textbooks and media items two weeks prior to the (regular) term end date. Note: Multi-Start Date courses may have later end dates than the regular term. Students with later end dates can, at anytime during the term, obtain a buyback quote through the "Sell Your Books Back" button at the MBS website, or by calling 1-800-325-3252 (Toll Free).

If you live outside the Dallas-area metroplex…

You must purchase the videotape program series through MBS.

Students enrolled in distance learning “Open Enrollment Telecourse PLUS” courses must purchase video programs through MBS.

Video Streaming

Most of the telecourse and telecourse plus courses are available to be viewed on a computer via video streaming but require a broadband connection such as DSL or cable. You may order video streaming after you have enrolled in a course by visiting http://www.telecollege.dcccd.edu/Streaming/default.htm  Video streaming is not available through MBS.
