Back in 1972, the DCCCD had a daring idea to use television to bring college courses to those who could not come to campus. In the 35 years that have followed, we have continued leveraging the latest in technology—internet, DVD, CD and iPods—to remove the obstacle of distance. Now mainstream, our distance learning courses have touched the lives of literally millions of students around the world (and even deployed on US Navy submarines).
